Class Structure and Syllabus:
Each unit will be contain a vocabulary lesson, an interactive lecture that will require students to think as well as learn note taking skills, quizzes to practice material, activities or labs to practice lecture concepts and develop critical thinking skills with choices to demonstrate understanding, a writing aspect that includes a self reflection on learning, a unit test, and a signature assignment that all teachers will give. Students will be allowed to retake unit tests upto 3 times as long as they complete a reflective test correction sheet prior to retaking the test. Signature, formative, and summative assessments can be refined and retaken as long as the reflection sheet is completed in order to achieve mastery on assignments. The reflective test correction sheet ask students to state what was the wrong answer, the correct answer, why the new answer is correct, and provide proper documentation as to where the new answer was found (this does not include someone elses test). This plan is subject to change with sufficient notice with time to adapt in order to best address the needs of the students in my classes. My goal is to provide a structured environment that fosters learning, critical thinking, and problem solving.
